To be listed as an OTHM Study Centre, new colleges need to first complete a Pre-application Checklist, followed by the OTHM New Centre Application Form. (see Contact OTHM section).

The listing and de-listing process is clearly provided in the Terms & Conditions required to be an OTHM centre.

ALL new OTHM centres will be first visited by OTHM or a representative of OTHM ( eg: The British Council) prior to listing. A report is provided to the OTHM Quality and Centre Accreditation and Audit Committee, followed by Full Board approval.

Some new centres who are still in process of completing documentation or refurbishment of premises will be ‘Conditionally Listed’- with a three month grace period followed by a further visit from OTHM.

OTHM Post Graduate Diploma Delivery CentreOTHM Level 7 Diploma (QCF)- descriptor- Post Graduate Level Delivery Centres

  1. An OTHM centre must also have been accredited by the British Accreditation Council (BAC) or Accreditation Services for International Colleges (ASIC) in the UK. International Centres will require additional third party recognised accreditation.
  2. Centres must have forwarded OTHM students for examinations.
  3. Student's performance must be above average.
  4. Centre facilities and student support should also be above average.
  5. The Centre must agree to teach exclusively OTHM programmes in the academic area of Tourism and Hospitality Management. Special note: In the future OTHM may also assist proven centres to deliver the final year BA (Hons) and Masters in Tourism & Hospitality Management locally.
  6. The centre must provide an exclusive classroom for Post Graduate students, with exclusive internet access.
  7. The centre must have a suitable library/resource area (on-site) for research and private study (with student access to recommended reading).
  8. The centre must have ‘Athens’ or equivalent online research resources.
  9. The centres ‘Post Graduate’ lecturing team must be verified by OTHM and also attend ‘Induction Training’ by OTHM.
  10. The Centre will also be visited by the University of Hertfordshire (UH) to confirm that ALL the above criteria are in place.
  11. Special note: UH and OTHM will run Research Methodology workshops for ALL OTHM Post Graduate students during their studies of the OTHM Post Graduate Diploma in International Tourism and Hospitality Management.
